Diary of a voyage to California, 1849 / by Edward Hall.

Edward Hall's diary records part of an 1849 voyage on the ship Pacific from New York to San Francisco. The diary begins in March when the ship stopped at Rio de Janeiro and Hall describes his stay there. He also records conflict between the passengers and the captain and the removal of Captain Tibbets from command. Hall comments on Lima, weather, and travel conditions. The journal ends before he reached California.
